Follow these steps to add your home to the map:

1. Click the "Add Your Location" button on the homepage.
2. In the pop-up modal, select your title (e.g., Mr, Mrs) and enter your name and email.
3. Type your full address in the provided field and select from Google’s autocomplete suggestions to ensure accuracy.
4. Choose your trick-or-treat hours (e.g., 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM).
5. Click "Add to Map". You’ll receive a confirmation and a removal code via email.

Note: Your address will appear as a pumpkin marker on the map, visible to others in your postcode area.

To update your marker’s details (e.g., address or time):

1. Click the "Edit Your Location" button on the homepage.
2. Enter your email and the removal code sent to you when you added your marker.
3. Click "Fetch Details" to load your current marker information.
4. Update your name, address (using autocomplete), or trick-or-treat hours as needed.
5. Click "Update Marker" to save changes.

Note: If you’ve lost your removal code, contact support via the form at the bottom of this page.

To remove your marker from the map:

1. Click the "Remove Your Location" button on the homepage.
2. Enter your email and the removal code sent to you.
3. Click "Remove Marker". Your marker will be instantly removed.

Note: Removing a listing deactivates it from the public map. The record can be safely reactivated for a future Halloween season without re-entering everything.

The "Show Best Path" feature helps you plan an efficient trick-or-treat route:

1. Enter your starting address in the "Enter Your Starting Address" field on the homepage and select from Google’s autocomplete suggestions.
2. Click "Set Starting Point" to confirm your location.
3. Save the houses you want with Add to Route, then click Show Best Path. The map optimizes those saved stops first. If you have not built a personal route, it uses the currently filtered listings.

Tip: Your route is saved on your device. You can share it as a link or QR code, print it, and open a shared route on another phone.

Listings are not permanently deleted after Halloween. Owners can deactivate their public marker and securely reactivate it for a future season. Live Open / Running Low / Finished states expire automatically after the day they are set.

You can also manually remove your marker at any time by following the removal steps above.

Open Manage Listing and sign in with the email address and edit/removal code from your confirmation email. On Halloween night you can set your location to Open, Treats Running Low or Finished. Live states automatically expire after that day so a house cannot accidentally stay marked open next year.

Yes. In Manage Listing choose an exact pin, an approximate street-area pin, or town/suburb-only privacy. Approximate privacy automatically reveals the exact location close to Halloween so families can find you when it matters.

No. Inactive previous-season listings can be reactivated. The site may send one seasonal reactivation invitation to a previous participant. If you are participating again, open the secure link and press Reactivate me. If you are not participating, do nothing and the listing remains hidden.

Yes. Use Manage Listing to upload a house or display photo. Photos are moderated first. Once approved, a linked photo can appear in the map listing and in the Australia-wide Community gallery.
